Siri’s Tree Deconstructed- AVAILABLE PAINTINGS

This show “Siri’s Tree Deconstructed” goes back to the root of my painting days. While waiting for our youngest daughter to be born, I spent one month in the hospital. While in the hospital one of my sister-in- laws brought be some art supplies so that I could enjoy some creativity during my bed rest. From there came a drawing, that I later named Siri’s tree (after our youngest girl who was born premature). The name Siri means “beautiful victory” and to me this tree represented something strong and victorious as did our tiny baby girl. My first painting that I ever showed and sold was an acrylic on canvas rendition of that drawing. I have subsequently painted many renditions of this tall solitary tree. I have pairs of trees and “families” of trees. This show looks at the beginnings of my painting journey, the tree, parts of the tree, the landscape that surrounds the tree and the process around painting this tree over the last 9 years. I hope you enjoy the show.
